I'm delighted to be joining educators from across Queensland at the United Workers' Union Lighting the Way Conference 2026. Lighting the Way has become one of Queensland's leading professional learning events dedicated to teacher aides and education assistants. More than a conference, it's an opportunity to connect with colleagues, learn from experienced practitioners and celebrate the extraordinary difference teacher aides make in the lives of students every day. The program brings together practical workshops, inspiring speakers and evidence-informed ideas that participants can immediately apply in their own schools. This year's conference is especially meaningful as schools continue navigating increasing complexity, diverse learner needs and ongoing change. More than ever, the knowledge, care and professionalism of teacher aides are essential to creating safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments. I'll be presenting Stop people pleasing.
